The Mobility Shop is the exclusive on-site provider for mobility equipment at the Minneapolis Convention Center and provides top-of-the-line mobility equipment which includes power operated vehicles (scooters) or manual wheelchairs. All equipment is picked up and returned on-site at the convention center.
To reserve mobility equipment online prior to arrival, visit http://www.themobilityshop.com or call 888-404-5554 (toll free). Scooters are limited and only available on a first come-first serve basis. The Mobility Shop recommends reserving your equipment in advance to insure its availability.
Forms of payment
All transactions must be processed with Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Checks and cash will not be accepted.
Renting
Minneapolis Convention Center Guests can pre-register and reserve their mobility equipment or register on-site. Guests that inquire about on-site rentals can check with concierges personnel at the Visitor Information Center located in the main lobby on ground level.
Rates
Minneapolis Convention Center guests that pre-register will pay the full-day rate:
- Mobility Scooter: Full-day/$50 per day
- Manual Wheelchair: Full-day/$20 per day
Minneapolis Convention Center guests that on-site register have the option to pay the full-day or half-day rate:
- Mobility Scooter: Half-day/Four (4) hour minimum $35 per day
- Manual Wheelchair: Half-day/Four (4) hour minimum $10 per day
Guests will be refunded $15 for the scooter or $10 for the wheelchair if returned within four (4) hours.
Policy
Mobility equipment cannot depart the MCC premises. Overnight use of mobility equipment is prohibited and must be returned prior to departure from the convention center facilities.
Waivers can be completed in advance online by checking a box or at the Center upon arrival with a paper form.
Onsite Details
Pick up at Visitor Information Center located in the main lobby on ground level.
Pick up hours are from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm each day of the conference.
A live concierge staff is located at the Scooter Rental office. Should you encounter any issues with the scooter, a scooter can be exhanged at the office.
